Nissan Juke Nismo RS pumps up the excitement

Nissan has created a new model in its performance focussed Nismo range, with the Juke receiving the fine-tuning treatment yet again.

The Juke Nismo has already proved popular in Europe and the RS version is set to offer even more.

After Nissan's engineering experts got a hold of the compact crossover, they increased the power to 218PS and the torque to 280Nm. Furthermore, the ride and handling have been enhanced and the body structure strengthened.

It has been presented with a number of design changes too, including the V-motion grille, RS badges and red brake callipers, while Recaro bucket seats are an available option.

The car will be available in three distinct colours, White Pearl, Black Metallic and Silver Grey and the cabin will receive the bespoke black Nismo styling.

Guillaume Cartier, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Nissan in Europe, said: "[The] new Juke Nismo RS conforms exactly to the Nismo ethos, providing an instant performance feeling in a premium design inspired by our motorsport activities. The result is engaging, exciting and accessible."

The model will be previewed at the Geneva Motor Show, which has opened doors to the public today (March 6th).
