Nissan Townstar Claims Double Victory at the 2024 What Van? Awards

  • Nissan picked up awards in two sought-after categories.
  • The Nissan Townstar was voted Compact Van of the Year.
  • Its Battery Electric Version (BEV), the Townstar EV was named Electric Van of the Year.

Nissan Townstar has added another two awards to its trophy cabinet. It picked up the Compact Van of the Year at the 2024 What Van? Awards, while the Townstar EV was named Electric Van of the Year.

The awards cement Nissan Townstar’s status as one of the best compact vans available on the market today.

Earlier this year, the Townstar was also named Compact High Cube Van of the Year at the 2023 Great British Fleet Awards

What Van? Is the UK’s biggest monthly van-buying guide and has been in circulation for over 30 years. The annual awards are judged by a panel of light commercial vehicle experts. Categories include manufacturer awards, industry awards, and headline awards.

Francesco Russiello, LCV category manager at Nissan GB, said: ''Here at Nissan, we know what a fantastic vehicle Townstar is, and it's wonderful to receive official confirmation of this at the respected What Van? Awards.

''Naturally, we are delighted – in particular with our overall 'Electric Van of the Year' success, in which Townstar would have been competing with vehicles of all shapes and sizes from a wide range of manufacturers.

''With tougher emissions standards, urban access restrictions, and ever-increasing demand for last-mile delivery, businesses large and small need to find effective and sustainable solutions to remain competitive and optimise their operations. Townstar fits the bill perfectly.''
