Nissan X-Trail makes its mark on Frankfurt

The Frankfurt Motor Show has seen the new Nissan X-Trail revealed to motoring enthusiasts, with the 4x4 presenting a number of style changes and features.

Although based on existing models of the X-Trail, the new vehicle is more muscular and modern than previous efforts, providing even more of an off-road statement.

Nissan has said the new X-Trail has re-defined the compact SUV segment, and has taken inspiration from models such as the Qashqai, Juke and Murano to create a vehicle that can handle everything that is thrown at it, while delivering all the necessities of a modern family car.

Motorists will be able to see the X-Trail on forecourts and in showrooms across the country following its release in early 2014.

The SUV has been described by the company as a "hugely important car" for its current range of vehicles, with the crossover style, efficiency and innovative design expected to be a hit.

In addition to providing strength and excellent drive quality, the new X-Trail includes a number of technological fittings. The car will have the latest NissanConnect in-car navigation system, which can also provide driver information and entertainment for passengers.

The vehicle also has mobile phone integration with Bluetooth connectivity, while a new advanced meter display with a five-inch TFT colour screen will deliver advice and statistics concerning average and actual speeds, traffic sign recognition and eco driving advice.
