PFA AND BRISTOL STREET MOTORS HELP LINCOLN CITY SUPERFAN MEET

A lifelong Lincoln City football fan had the chance to meet one of the team’s stars, thanks to the Professional Footballer’s Association (PFA) and Bristol Street Motors.

Alistair Sawyer and his partner, Debby Bailey, presented Lincoln City striker, Ollie Palmer, with the coveted PFA fan award.

Ollie Palmer, 26, won the award with 32 percent of the vote, despite not starting a single game. The striker has been particularly praised for his performances in March which included an equalising goal against Mansfield Town, and a late winning goal against Exeter City.

Alistair has been a fan of the club since he was five years old, and hopes his son will continue to share his enthusiasm.

Alistair said: “It was great to present Ollie Palmer with the award and to meet him, he was very accommodating. I also got to meet the CEO of Lincoln FC and see what goes on behind the scenes, which was great.

“I currently live in Walton, where the new Lincoln training ground is being built – I’m looking forward to taking my son down there once it’s completed!”

Liz Cope, chief marketing officer at awards partner Vertu Motors plc - parent company of Bristol Street Motors - added: “We are delighted to continue to support the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Month award. Our dealerships across the country take pride in supporting their local communities, with everything from grass roots football to local charity support.
