A lifelong Middlesbrough FC fan had the chance to meet one of her heroes, thanks to the Professional Footballer’s Association and Bristol Street Motors.

Katie Beadle, 19, who has supported Middlesbrough ever since she can remember, and her boyfriend, Callum Jones, presented Boro’s Adama Traor, with the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Month award.

Katie, who is currently a student at Doncaster University, said: “I was looking on the Middlesbrough website and saw a link to vote for Traor. I think if there’s any player at the club that currently deserves an award, it’s him, so of course I had to give him my vote. When I got the email saying I’d won the chance to present the award to him I was so excited.

“Callum is a big Doncaster fan but since we got together he’s had to become an adopted fan of Middlesbrough and the team has definitely got under his skin! It has been incredible to meet Traor and a great experience for us both.”

Middlesbrough fan Jason Clow, from Bristol Street Motors Darlington SEAT also attended the presentation. In addition to his role as parts manager, Jason is a part-time youth coach and scout for Middlesbrough FC. He trains and invites potential players to the club’s Academy in Durham.

Jason said: “I think that Adama is having a brilliant season and absolutely deserves this award. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience as I don’t often see the first team side of things, so being able to see Adama presented with the award was great.”

Adama Traor added: “It’s great to win this award, I’m really happy to win and to meet some great fans.”

Liz Cope, chief marketing officer at awards partner Vertu Motors plc - parent company of Bristol Street Motors - added: “We are delighted to continue to support the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Month award. Our dealerships across the country take pride in supporting their local communities, with everything from grass roots football to local charity support.”
