Renault teams up with British Gas for charging points

The new range of pure electric cars from Renault will be charged by British Gas, with home top-up points available for just £995, the French carmaker has announced.

Renault is rolling out a new range of zero-emission cars later this year, including the Kangoo Van ZE, the Fluence ZE, the Zoe and the new two-seater Twizy.

To help charge these cars quickly, conveniently, safely and cheaply, British Gas engineers can install a home charging point for just £995.

Furthermore, British Gas will be advising homeowners to consider installing solar panels on their house as well, as the company claims that the power generated from this can be enough to offset the annual cost of running an electric car.

Thierry Sybord, managing director of Renault UK, said: "The electric revolution is on its way. With British Gas, Renault ZE customers can access competitive, quality charging technology and rely upon a prompt and professional service."
