Renault welcomes Twingo RenaultSport to its range

Renault has announced the launch of a new enhanced version of the Renault Twingo.

The RenaultSport 133 version will be made available from April 2nd and is set to boast a raft of cosmetic and technical enhancements that will appeal to the UK's hardcore petrol heads.

At a glance, the new Twingo benefits from a new prominent logo, black detailing and black headlight and footlight surrounds to conform with Renault's new visual identity.

The model features Bluetooth, cruise control, speed limiter and an F1-style front blade.

Despite these features being worth more than £500, they are included as standard on the model, which the French manufacturer has now revealed will carry an on-the-road price of £13,565.

"Aside from its new body-colour F1-style blade, core equipment on the latest revised Renaultsport includes 16" alloy wheels, electric Gloss Black door mirrors, extra tinted windows and tailgate, Renaultsport exhaust with chrome tailpipe, plus Twingo's versatile independent sliding and folding rear seats," the firm explained.

"On the inside, the performance aura of the flagship Twingo continues with Renaultsport yellow stitching on the steering wheel and seats, together with white detailing for the top of the steering wheel, seat backs and cushions, rev-counter surround and air conditioning controls."

Those who are not yet convinced will be able to take a closer look at the sporty model when it hits UK showroom floors on April 23rd.

Renault is also confident that despite the new Twingo's sporting prowess, the model will appeal to eco-conscious drivers.

CO2 emissions have been reduced to 150g/km and combined-cycle fuel economy improved by three per cent to 43.5 mpg, Renault confirmed.

RenaultSport is hoping that the latest version will continue the strong sales seen by its predecessors, which have helped the Twingo RenaultSport secure a post as a top-three seller in its class, with sales totalling more than 10,000 vehicles.
