Soldberg relishing surface change

Petter Soldberg is looking forward to a change of surface in order to see what his new car is really capable of.

The Ford Fiesta RS WRC driver managed a podium finish at the season opener in Monte Carlo and is looking to put the pressure on Citroen's Sebastien Loeb as the season moves to Sweden.

"You need to have a good start to the season if you want to fight Seb," he said.

"I understand the car is even better on gravel and snow, so I'm looking forward to moving onto those surfaces next. To finish in the top three is the perfect start to the season - I couldn't have asked for anything more. Now I can concentrate solely on the driving, and I can't wait to get to Sweden."

Loeb is the early leader after driving his Citroen Ds3 to a convincing win in the south of France, but the season is young and the eight-time champion faces a tough challenge to hold onto his crown.
