The 66th Frankfurt International Motor Show is now well underway and DS has asserted themselves with the reveal of three world firsts.

The French company has unveiled its updated DS 4 & new DS 4 Crossback, the fully electric DSV-01 Formula E car and its DS 4 Crossback concept.

The DS 4 and DS 4 Crossback were the hotly anticipated models replacing the original DS 4, which was released in 2011. They share the same base and engine but offer different body styles.

To showcase the full potential of its new DS 4 Crossback, DS has developed a show car based on this latest model. The avant-garde DS 4 Crossback Concept offers a glimpse into the future of DS, via use of materials not usually found on cars, including fine strips of stone as detailing.

The fully electric single-seater DSV-01 was born out of the partnership between Virgin Racing and DS. Utilising the latters previous experience in the Formula E championships and engineering from DS's motorsport division, DS Performance, the impressive electric vehicle will be raced by Sam Bird and Jean-Eric Vergne in the upcoming Formula E season.

For the duration of the show, there will also be screenings of the new adverts featuring Baby DS, the latest brand model.
