Vauxhall unveils 'Unlimited' Insignia VXR

Model produces 325PS.

Vauxhall has released a de-restricted version of its popular Insignia VXR model.

The Unlimited option raises the car's top speed from 155mph to 170mph, enabling it to fully exploit its all-wheel-drive chassis dynamics.

It produces 325PS and boasts a turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 engine, meaning it can reach 60mph in less than six seconds.

The car has already undergone a 10,000km test programme at the Nurburgring complex in Germany and will be available in hatch, saloon and sports tourer body styles, as well as with manual or automatic transmission.

Vauxhall group product manager Stuart Harris said: "For those owners who enjoy driving on the continent, the Unlimited option lets them experience the Insignia VXR's true top speed, combined with the peerless stability and secure handling that only an all-wheel-drive chassis can offer."

In other news, Vauxhall will release full details about the Astra GTC in June, ahead of its availability in showrooms in late autumn.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800522046-ADNFCR
