A Closer Look at the Renault Arkana
A new vehicle has been added to the Renault SUV line-up, and it delivers some important firsts for the brand.
Introducing the All-New Arkana, Renault’s first purpose-built hybrid car. It’s also the manufacturer’s first SUV to feature sleek coupe styling – a niche more commonly dominated by premium German brands such as BMW and Mercedes. However, the Arkana will add a much more affordable option to this coupe-SUV market.
Expect an athletic exterior design, a well-finished interior and all the latest technology.

Exterior
The All-New Arkana has a commanding SUV stance; its sleek yet sturdy design is enhanced with a number of characteristic features.
At the front, distinctive LED Pure Vision lights are complemented by Renault’s signature C-shape LED daytime running lights, delivering an instantly recognisable profile.
Skid plates give a rugged touch at the front and the rear, and these are available in differing grey finishes across the three Arkana specifications; the Iconic, S Edition and R.S Line.
All trims feature diamond-cut alloy wheels as standard; these range from 17-inch ‘Bahamas’ on Iconic models, 18-inch ‘Pasadena’ on S Edition models and 18-inch ‘Silverstone’ with red spoke detailing on the range-topping R.S. Line models.
A distinctive rear 3D LED lighting signature comes as standard across all specifications, with a light bar stretching across the tailgate to meet the Renault badge in the centre.
A range of vibrant exterior paint colours are available, including Zanzibar Blue, Flame Red, Pearl White, Glacier White, Metallic Black and Metallic Grey. Plus, tinted windows, black lower door protection and chrome detailing give the vehicle a real sporty finish.
Interior
Inside the Arkana, you can expect a perfect blend of sportiness, comfort and practicality.
Clever design means there’s plenty of room inside the vehicle, without ever compromising on style. The raised SUV ride height creates a spacious cabin which is disguised behind the Arkana’s sleek body. There’s ample room for driver and passenger in the front, and in the rear, there’s plenty of head and legroom for even the tallest of travellers - plus the raised height makes accessing child seats a breeze.
The practical and spacious characteristics of the seating area extend to the boot, where there’s a comfortable 513 litres of storage space on offer; perfect if you’ve got to pack everything including the kitchen sink.
The high-quality interior features the very latest technology; the main infotainment display will keep drivers and passengers constantly connected, and with features like DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, entertainment needs will certainly be met.
All models have a decent safety kit as standard, which includes the likes of: Active Emergency Braking System, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist.
Engines and Performance
The All-New Arkana comes in an entirely electrified range of powertrains, with two options on offer.
The first option is an E-Tech hybrid powertrain which combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine with a 1.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and two electric motors, producing 145hp. This version of the Arkana will go from 0-62mph in 10.8 seconds.
The second powertrain option is the TCe 140 petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. This 1.3-litre engine propels the All-New Arkana from 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds and generates 140hp.
