Why sign up for an online account?

Setting up an online account is easy. Once you’re up and running you can do the following with ease:

  • Begin an application.
  • Review, add, or modify named drivers throughout your lease.
  • Access the details of your insurance cover should you need it.
  • View and amend personal information, including your address and contact details.
  • Find the contact details of your chosen dealership.
  • Access important lease dates and Scheme documents.

 

Who can use the platform?

Online accounts are accessible to new and existing Motability customers without an appointee. The platform will be made available to everyone in due course.

How do I start an application online?

Firstly, you’ll need to create your online account or sign in.

When creating your account, you’ll need to confirm whether you’re new to the Scheme, or if you already have a lease or application ongoing.

New Motability Scheme customers

You’ll find information on how the Scheme works. Before you start your application, you must read through this.

You can then add the following details:

  • Personal information, such as your name, address, and date of birth.
  • Information about your mobility allowance.
  • Grant information, if you receive one.
  • Your two named drivers (provided they hold an English, Welsh, or Scottish licence).

 

Existing Motability Scheme customers

Go to the ‘New car application’ section of your online account. Here, you can enter the same details as listed above, and begin your application.

You must be within the final three months of your existing lease or be in a lease extension to begin a new application.

What happens after I’ve started an online application?

After entering your details, the next step is to visit your local dealership. Here, you can choose your car, take a test drive, and complete your application.

Starting your application online means there’s less admin to do at the dealership. This gives you more time to focus on the fun part – finding your next car!

Once you have placed your order, you can take advantage of a range of other handy features in your online account. You’ll be able to check the status of your application and see how things are moving along.

You’ll have the opportunity to view and access your PIN in preparation for delivery day. This means you won’t have to remember your PIN letter when you collect your new car. You can simply access this on your smartphone at the dealership.

You can also choose your payment preference through your online account. This is convenient if you prefer to receive the New Vehicle Payment directly to your bank account, for example, instead of via cheque.
