Alfa Romeo 4C scoops top FHM award

The Alfa Romeo 4C has been wowing motorists and journalists ever since the designs were released and FHM magazine is the latest publication to heap praise on the stunning model.

It has been described as a "magic car" by the editors and was praised for its lightweight construction in addition to its immense driver appeal.

The magazine said the car is the vehicle that British men respect, desire and aspire to own and is "one of the most exciting sports cars on the planet".

Able to achieve 62mph in an astonishing 4.5 seconds, with an overall top speed of 160mph, the car features an all-aluminium, 240hp, 1750 Turbo petrol engine, in addition to Alfa Romeo's new DNA driving mode selector.

In addition to excellent performance while behind the wheel, the car is also more economical than other similar models, delivering 41.5mpg and limiting CO2 emissions to just 157g/km.

FHM motoring editor Conor McNicholas said: "After much deliberation, there was only one car that could take the accolade of FHM's Car of the Year. With its neck-tingling speed, dramatic looks and real-world price, the Alfa Romeo 4C was the car that most turned us on in 2013."

Damien Dally, head of brand at Alfa Romeo, said the manufacturer is "thrilled" with the recognition, proving the company knows what it takes when it comes to delivering a cool and desirable sports car.
