The Chevrolet Cruze hatchback is affordable and has a good-sized boot, a review of the vehicle by What Car? has said.

An assessment of the carmaker's new offering was published online today (July 19th), praising the model's interior.

"The cabin has plenty of head and legroom for four six-footers, so it's a practical family car," the review said.

Available with three choices of engine - a 1.6 or 1.8-litre petrol or 2.0-litre diesel - the Chevrolet Cruze can be taken away from £13,995 and people used to ferrying around a lot of kids or relatives may be attracted to its spaciousness.

Indeed, the review described the car's boot as "impressively large" with a 413-litre capacity, while it was also praised for how comfortable it was to drive due to the ease of adjusting the seat and steering wheel.

What Car? stated that the new hatchback Cruze is expected to sell even more than the other models in the range, which until now were all saloons.

Some of those picking up this new vehicle may be racing fans who recognise the motor.

Indeed, Chevrolet's World Touring Car Championship and British Touring Car Championship contenders are both Cruzes.
