Citroen DS3 chalks up another WRC victory

The Greek leg of the World Rally Championship has ended in another one-two for Citroen, with Sebastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia edging out Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena.

Citroen has widened its lead at the top of the manufacturers' championship thanks to this result, which was the French carmakers' 22nd one-two finish - making for a new WRC record.

Racing in his Citroen DS3 rally car, reigning WRC champion Sebastien Loeb took a slender 2.2 second lead into the final day, which involved a 65km series of time trials through the tough Aghii Theodori stage.

However, his Citroen team mate Sebastien Ogier took some risks, which paid off, giving him the fastest time over the four-kilometre power stage.

"This perfect result is going to do our championship hopes a lot of good. I have to underline the reliability of the DS3 WRC, which had a problem-free three days in a race that was run at high speed," he said.
