Citroen Grand C4 Picasso gets seven seats and very low CO2

When it comes to people carriers the Citroen Picasso has been a best-seller for many years, and this all-new car looks to build on that sales success with more space, practicality and economy than ever before.

The new Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is certainly striking to look at with its ultra-slim LED lights and heavily sculpted bodywork. It's some 2.84m long now; 11cm longer than the previous Picasso – making for greater overall cabin and boot space - but thanks to its shorter overhangs it's actually the shortest in its class. And with plenty of glass throughout the cabin that greater space is sure to be well lit.

Of great interest to frugal families will be the new e-HDi 90 Airdream engine, which emits an-impressive-for-a-big-car 98g/km of CO2, and is said to hit 74.3mpg on the combined economy cycle. That's a class-leading economy figure right there.

However, the best-selling of the new range is set to be the e-HDi 115, which is still low on the emissions front at 104g/km of CO2, with a combined fuel economy at 70.6mpg.

The new Citroen Grand C4 Picasso goes on sale later this summer, with prices to be confirmed.
