Citroen Racing announces arrival of Nasser Al-Attiyah

Qatari race ace Nasser Al-Attiyah is set to join French WRC team Citroen Racing.

The team has confirmed that from Rally Sweden and beyond the drive will be behind the wheel of a Ds3 WRC identical to those driven by Sebastien Loeb and new driver Mikko Hirvonen.

Al-Attiyah will bring a wealth of experience to the line up, having raced 46 rounds of the championship since 2004.

The 2011 Dakar winner said he is relishing the opportunity to race for the works Citro�n Total World Rally Team.

"I'm very happy to fulfill what has been both a dream and a sporting objective. I can't wait to get to know the team better and to test the Ds3 WRC," he commented.

"It's still a bit early to fix myself objectives as I'm counting on acquiring experience not only with the engineering squad, but also with drivers as talented as Sebastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen."
