Ford Focus estate poised to go on sale

Car will go on sale in Europe this month with a range of engine options.

Ford is poised to begin selling the estate version of the all-new Ford Focus.

The model has now entered volume production in Europe and first deliveries to UK customers are expected this month.

According to the company, the car is likely to account for 15 per cent of Ford Focus sales in the UK and almost 30 per cent in Europe.

With a range of low CO2 powertrains and class-leading dynamics, the Focus estate will also be available as a five-door version.

Many customers could opt for the state-of-the-art new 150PS 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost turbocharged direct injection petrol engine, while others might choose an improved Duratorq TDCi common-rail diesel.

Roelant de Waard, vice-president of marketing, sales and service at Ford of Europe, said the response to the upcoming model has been "exceptional".

"The new Ford Focus brings class-leading levels of technology, design and driving quality to the medium car market, and the estate will deliver these same qualities to an even broader group of customers," MR de Waard added.

Ford confirmed this week that SYNC technology will bring WiFi connectivity to many of its cars, including the new Focus, by next year.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800520318-ADNFCR
