Ford Transit Custom takes the Cannes Film Festival experience to the streets

Ford is bringing the mobile movie theatre to the streets of southern France with its special Ford Transit Custom, which will be debuting independent films around the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

The so-called Cannes in a Van team are attending the event for the sixth year, with Ford taking the responsibility for the second time. This year’s vehicle will be showing the 2012 Van d’Or Awards winners and nominees while parked at the Boulevard de la Croisette close to the festival site.

"Inspired independent productions like ‘82' and ‘Taking Life' made our 2012 Awards a special occasion, and it's a real privilege to take films like these down to Cannes and give them much-needed exposure within the festival,” said Andy Green House, Cannes in a Van co-founder.

“We're also really excited to have the new Transit Custom as our home for the sixth year of Cannes in a Van."

Cannes Film Festival will not be the vehicle’s only stop off this year. It is also set to hit a number of other events across Europe, concluding with the international Van d’Or Awards for independent film in London this September.
