Hyundai delves into car buyer's inner thoughts

Hyundai has attempted to convey the inner thoughts of two very individual car buyers in its latest online video sketches.

BAFTA winning actor Darren Boyd stars in one video, while Anna Crilly - star of Lead Balloon and Katy and Anna - is the other potential customer.

When being told the details of the latest Hyundai i30 and New Generation Santa Fe, both buyers mind's wander as to the true potential of the car and what it actually means for them and their families. The audience gets to hear their funny and wacky observations as the baffled salesman tries to go through the benefits of both models.

Andrew Cullis, marketing director of Hyundai UK, said the manufacturer wanted to deliver content that was much more than just the hard facts.

“With these videos we are offering consumers something more engaging and appealing than the traditional brochure or online specifications. Today’s consumers are looking for more – they want to be entertained, informed and educated," he said.

The first hilarious video definitely achieves that, engaging the viewer while pointing out the i30's excellent versatility as a spacious family car and an attractive personal vehicle with fantastic fuel efficiency.

For Boyd, while being shown the New Generation Santa Fe, he tries to prove just how manly he is when buying the car, boasting his driving skills that he simply doesn't have to hilarious, although somewhat awkward effect.

The salesman makes the point that the car provides a really relaxing drive with cruise control, flex-steer with three driving modes - normal comfort and sport. However, the car doesn't compromise on power, with the four-wheel-drive making it brilliant at tackling all terrains.
