Mazda reveals 25th anniversary edition of its MX-5

On the 25th anniversary of its launch, Mazda's MX-5 receives a birthday upgrade in celebration of its success.

This iconic, two-seat roadster is pitched as a convertible sports car that gets your "heart racing".

It comes with exceptional agility, fantastic driving dynamics and maximum power-to-weight ratio, as well as an awesome rear-wheel drive.

"We can think of no better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our evergreen Mazda MX-5 than with an unveiling in its honour at the Goodwood Festival of Speed," commented Jeremy Thomson, managing director of Mazda UK.

"The Mazda MX-5 was created for precisely the sort of motoring enthusiasts who throng to the Festival in their thousands each year - people who just love cars, and just love to drive."

Mazda has explained that the philosophy behind the development of the car has always been true to the Japanese idea of Jinba Ittai, which translates as "horse and rider as one".

The car comes with 16-inch alloys, dual front airbags, climate control air conditioning, sports seats and an integrated infotainment system as standard.
