New Ford Mondeo bags What Car? accolades

The latest Ford Mondeo has bagged two trophies at the What Car? Awards.

According to the manufacturer, the Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 140PS Zetec was named best family car and best estate car at the award ceremony, despite having only been released three months ago.

Judges praised the mid-range vehicle for its fantastic value, as well as new features such as LED lights, improved interior design and sporty handling.

The new car also boasts a multi-media DVD system and 265-watt sound system.

An older version of the model enjoyed the same double success at the What Car? Awards in 2009.

Steve Fowler, What Car? editor-in-chief, said: "The latest Mondeo is simply a brilliant car. It does everything brilliantly and nothing badly. Whether you choose the hatch or estate, you'll be getting a spacious, high-quality, affordable car that's fun to drive."

Ford recently unveiled new petrol and diesel powertrains for the new Mondeo.

In other news, the new Ford Focus is set to be released in the UK in March, available in sporty hatchback and stylish estate bodystyles.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800345519-ADNFCR
