New generation Hyundai i30 unveiled ahead of Geneva show

A new generation Hyundai i30 wagon has been unveiled ahead of next month's Geneva Motor Show.

It adds to the carmaker's C-segment range along with the i30 five-door hatchback.

Where this model is different to the hatchback lies in its size. The wagon has a longer body to increase boot space. Indeed, it is 10mm longer than the original i30 wagon and significantly larger than the five-door.

When the rear passenger seats are folded down, the trunk of the new i30 wagon expands to 1,642 litres, which will make it an attractive option for many families.

"The New Generation i30 has been widely praised for its style, quality, and value," commented Allan Rushforth, senior vice-president and chief operating officer of Hyundai Motor Europe.

"Our new wagon offers all of those attributes plus even greater load-carrying capacity. We expect it to appeal strongly to those looking for stylish and flexible practicality, especially active families."

External features include Hyundai's hexagon-shaped grille and the roofline extends over the passenger/boot area. It also has a deep tailgate to give a cleaner look and opens to bumper level for easy loading.
