Nissan GT-R secures victory in GT1 Championship

Michael Krumm and Lucas Luhr were first across the finishing line at the GT1 Championships at Paul Ricard circuit on Monday (July 18th) behind the wheel of a Nissan GT-R.

The two began in pole position in the no.23 JRM vehicle after powering through Saturday's qualifying race.

Having achieved this victory, the team is now leading the Driver's Championship, which Mr Krumm put down partly to the quality of the car.

"The GT-R felt really great out there and it handled very comfortably throughout my stint behind the wheel," he said.

But Mr Krumm and Mr Luhr were not the only GT-R drivers who performed well in the race, with David Brabham and Jamie Campbell-Walter finishing fourth and Enrique and Nick Catsburg also taking one of the motors around the track.

The FIA GT1 Championship pitches Nissan against other sports car brands like Chevrolet, Aston Martin, Ford and Lamborghini on ten courses across the globe.
