Nissan Juke-R to receive public release

After causing a stir in the motoring industry earlier this year, Nissan has revealed a limited run of its Juke-R car.

The vehicle was revealed as a show car back in January, with the Japanese manufacturer stating at the time that it had no intention of putting the model into production.

However, Nissan revealed that it was inundated with comments regarding the Juke-R from people across the globe in the months following this grand unveiling.

Darren Cox, brand director for Nissan in Europe, explained: "People loved the Juke-R in Dubai - we were receiving offers for the original concept on the street."

Eventually bowing to the pressure, Nissan decided to hand engineers at RML Motorsport, in Northamptonshire, the task of making the car into a road-legal model.

The result is a Juke-R that packs a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine under its bonnet, while also being able to achieve 0-62mph in three seconds and a top speed of around 170mph.

A customer from Dubai has taken delivery of the first Juke-R model, which comes with a milky white paintjob, with more versions being planned for the future.
