Nissan Qashqai sees out year with another award

Nissan was confident that its new crossover, the Qashqai, would capture the imagination of European drivers, but the Japanese firm could not have pictured just how much of a runaway success the model would be.

2011 has been a superb year for the firm, with both the Qashqai and the Juke hitting the headlines for all the right reasons.

Recently, the Qashqai picked up the CAP used Car of the Year prize for the second year running.

This was on the heels of the same honours at the 2011 What Car? Used car Awards.

According to the CAP judging panel, the British-built Qashqai "scored highly in every area".

Jim Wright, managing director of Nissan GB, said the fact that the model is picking up used car awards is evidence of its wide-ranging appeal.

“Cars that are desirable when new are still desirable when the owner comes to sell them on, especially if they have proven to be reliable," he commented.

"The continuing success of the Qashqai in the new and used car markets proves that the British motor industry can produce a winner, even in the toughest market conditions."
