Qashqai ready to 'redefine' the crossover market

Nissan is counting down the ten days until the new Qashqai is unveiled to the motoring world.

While some car fanatics might usually let such an announcement slip under the radar, Nissan has upped the ante by calling the latest model the most significant car in its modern history.

According to the manufacturer, the crossover will completely redefine the sector and deliver a vehicle that will set new standards for all other similar vehicles to follow.

The Qashqai has yet to see any specifications fully confirmed, with Nissan only releasing a mysterious cloaked image of the car in its latest promotional feature. However, rumours suggest the model could offer drivers a choice of a 1.6-litre diesel engine or a supercharged 1.2-litre petrol alternative.

Elsewhere, the vehicle is expected to undergo a facelift on the outside, while the interior will also be subject to alterations.

Nissan has said the new Qashqai "pushes the boundaries of design and innovation" and will feature a range of technologies that will be a world first for the sector.
