Renault congratulates Vettel on F1 title win

The recent crowning of Sebastian Vettel as 2011 Formula 1 champion has highlighted the strength of the partnership between Red Bull Racing and Renault.

That is according to the French car manufacturer, which powers the title-winning driver's car through its Renaulsport engine.

A third place finish behind Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso at Suzuka last weekend was enough to ensure that Vettel became the youngest double champion in the history of the sport and only the ninth driver to secure back-to-back titles.

Carlos Ghosn, chief executive officer of Renault, was among the first to offer the young German some words of congratulations.

"We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Sebastian Vettel and all at Red Bull Racing," he commented.

"The partnership between Renault and Red Bull has grown very quickly into one of the most successful engine-chassis partnerships in Formula One and in Renault's long history in the sport."
