The 100,000th latest-edition Renault Master van, a "sales hit" for the manufacturer, has come off the production line at a French plant.

With as many as 350 different versions of the motor available and orders for the commercial vehicle rising by 40 per cent over the last 12 months, the staff at the factory have had their work cut out for them.

In the first six months of 2011, Renault employed an extra 90 workers at its Societe de Vehicules Automobiles de Batilly plant to help the brand keep up with demand for its Master van.

The commercial vehicle can be bought in front or rear-wheel drive, four different lengths and heights, 26 body types and a range of load bearing capabilities.

Renault said the plant rose to the challenge of creating the products in record time, but the brand isn't going to stop there, planning to reach an output rate of 600 motors a day by the end of the year.

The latest Master, Traffic and Kangoo vans from the manufacturer are fitted with Carminat TomTom LIVE sat nav technology.
