Renault Sport and Red Bull Racing agree contract extension

The partnership that has seen German driver Sebastian Vettel dominate Formula One racing over the last two years is set to work harder to ensure the racer remains at the top.

Red Bull Racing and Renault Sport Formula One have announced a five-year extension to the partnership that delivered a driver's crown for Vettel last year, a feat he is set to repeat this season.

Under the terms of the extended partnership, Renault will continue to explore innovative way to ensure that Red Bull's cars are the fastest on the track.

Jean-Franois Caubet, managing director of Renault Sport F1, said: "The V6 power units due to be introduced from 2014 represent a huge undertaking and to have the input, resources and vast in-house F1 car expertise of Red Bull Technology will help the team.

"Having this particular support will of course be to the advantage of our other team partners, who will indirectly benefit from the joint expertise of the Red Bull Racing and Renault Sport F1."
