Seat 'to release four new models in 2012'

Seat is poised to release four models in 2012, its president has told Headline Auto.

According to James Muir, the popularity of the Seat Ibiza generates over 50 per cent of the company's sales and it must therefore branch out with new vehicle options.

Mr Muir noted that all four of the new models will be "firmly anchored" in established areas of the market.

One of the vehicles penned for 2012 will be an updated version of the Seat Leon range, with three-door, five-door and wagon choices, the president said.

He went on to state the success of the Seat Exeo, commenting: "I believe an SUV is something the brand needs and we need to get away from having concepts that are just flights of fancy."

Seat will attempt to take a three per cent market share in 2012.

The company's updated Alhambra is currently making its debut appearance at the Geneva Motor Show.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800440409-ADNFCR
