Transit 'still performing well'

The Ford Transit remains the nation's favourite light commercial vehicle (LCV) after 45 years on the market, a company newsletter confirms.

According to the first edition of the firm's new and regular Keep Britain Moving newsletter, the popularity of the model shows no signs of abating, with December last year attracting the same level of commercial interest as in 2009.

Meanwhile, Ford reports that its Ranger model is also proving successful due to its "tough and durable" build quality and vast array of uses.

The firm cites how the Ford Ranger was a boon to many businesses across the UK during December due to heavy snowfall.

Kevin Griffin, Ford of Britain fleet director, commented: "We are seeing the largest, traditional fleet customers buying again, including the construction industry. We'll be here in 2011 supporting our commercial vehicle customers with the most suitable, best value and toughest products on the market."

The Ford Transit has won numerous awards since it was launched in 1965, including Best Security Panel Van 2010 from What Van? Magazine for the sixth consecutive year.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800385863-ADNFCR
