Vauxhall launches Euro 2012 Facebook Competition

Vauxhall is taking its role as an official sponsor of the England football team seriously and as such has launched a new Facebook competition that could see some lucky fans flown to Ukraine to see a live Euro 2012 game.

New England manager Roy Hodgson is scheduled to name his initial squad for the summer competition tomorrow (May 16th) and this will surely see interest in the campaign kick-off.

The Luton-based carmaker is looking to make the dreams of some fans come true with its Home or Away contest.

In conjunction with digital agency Skive, the firm will offer Away prizes - which will see England followers flown to Ukraine - and Home prizes - which will see fans treated to a VIP match screening here in England.

While the latter prize may seem less glamorous, the match will be watched by the winner and an England football legend.

In order to win, fans simply need to log on to the relevant Facebook page and answer a set of football trivia questions.

Winners will be given the choice of either a Home or Away prize and will be able to cheers the team on to glory in style.

Commenting on the competition, Peter Hope, Vauxhall's marketing director, said: "As the England Team sponsor we wanted to offer the ultimate fan experience either at Home or Away this summer.

"We have made a significant investment in our digital football platforms and the response to our activity has been very positive from the fans.  Our Facebook competitions have also been very well received and we are always looking to push the boundaries and give fans a unique experience through our sponsorship of the National team."

England's campaign kicks off on June 11th against host nation Ukraine and the team will need to get the better of both France and Sweden in order to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.
