Vauxhall Zafira Tourer hailed for pulling power
The Vauxhall Zafira Tourer has been hailed as the UK's best multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).
Practical Caravan magazine handed the Best MPV award to the car at its Towcar Awards 2012.
According to the event's organisers, the prizes were handed out after a vigorous and thorough towcar assessment, which sees each model tested by a panel of eight judges for its towing ability.
Other factors taken into account include buying and owning costs, drive quality when not towing and practicality.
Nigel Donnelly, Haymarket Outdoor Leisure Group's editor-in-chief-digital, said: "The Zafira Tourer really comes into its own when towing.
"At the legal limit and beyond the Zafira Tourer is a relaxing car to tow with. With plenty of power and torque, the 2.0-litre engine pulled car and caravan from 30-60mph in 14.1 seconds."
Vauxhall's marketing director Peter Hope welcomed the win adding that the awards are "by far the most prestigious event in the caravanning calendar".
