An updated version of one of Vauxhall's most popular SUVs is due to go on sale in the UK next month.

The new Vauxhall Antara will be cheaper than its predecessor and features a 2.2-litre CDTi 163PS Exclusiv front-wheel drive engine.

Immediately recognisable due to its updated Griffin logo and front grille, the large car boasts 19-inch alloy wheels as standard and has the option of a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

Vauxhall marketing director Peter Hope said that once it goes on sale in December, it will be a "highly competitive" choice for motorists.

"Its lower emissions, higher output diesel engines and refreshed design will offer renewed appeal to both retail and fleet customers," Mr Hope added.

Other features which come as standard include an electric parking brake, Hill Assist System and fuel-saving 'shift up' indicator.

The Vauxhall Antara is known for its consistent trailer stability and level-ride suspension.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800257811-ADNFCR
