Best of British with Vauxhall's cheerful new TV ad

The sporty new Astra Bi-Turbo will feature in a new Vauxhall TV ad that's all about the fun side of British life. The TV ad will air from 1st to 28th July 2013 and will be supported by a social media campaign. The advert looks at iconic British scenes such as ice-cream on the beach, kicking about in the park, country lanes and festivals. The advert is peppered with quintessential British idiosyncrasies such as 'looking on the bright side' and talking about the weather.

The idea behind the advert is to celebrate the Vauxhall Astra; a car that's been on the market in the UK for some 30 years.

Commenting on Vauxhall Motors’, Reasons To Be Cheerful ad, Peter Hope, Marketing Director said: “The Astra was launched over 30 years ago and remains the car most synonymous with Vauxhall with almost a quarter of British motorists having owned one.”

He added: “The campaign supports our goal of building warmth, emotion and approachability for the Vauxhall brand and fits with other brand initiatives to create pride and advocacy such as Vauxhall & I and the Home Nations sponsorship.”

And it's probably fair to say that a sunny drive down a twisty British back lane in the sporty Astra Bi-Turbo would indeed be a fantastic reason to be cheerful!
