Fiat details new Punto offering
Fiat appears to be going after a larger market share in the UK after announcing an aggressive pricing strategy for the forthcoming Punto model.
The Italian manufacturer has confirmed that the 2012 Punto will carry a starting price of £9,900 on the road for the Pop 1.2 eight-valve version.
According to the firm, the car, which will hit showroom floors this week, represents "outstanding value for money".
The sub-£10,000 price tag will see the Punto placed in direct competition with the likes of the Mazda2 and the Renault Twingo.
Fiat has been sure to make potential customers aware that the Punto range caters to all needs, with the top end Lounge 1.3 Multijet version costing £15,600 and offering a range of extra features.
Elena Bernardelli, marketing director of Fiat Group Automobiles UK, explained: "The Punto range has been – and still is – an important car in the Fiat line-up, and we’re delighted now to be able to reveal prices of this latest evolution.
"Punto is up against some tough competition in its sector but we are confident that we are able to offer an attractive package at exceptional value-for-money prices to keep it a viable and desirable proposition."
