Ford Commercials has record-prize winning year

Ford is currently celebrating the success its commercial vehicles sector has achieved, with 25 major awards being claimed in 2013 by this particular area of the company.

It marks a record achievement for the manufacturer, with this haul of accolades being the most the company has ever achieved.

Leading from the front was the Ford Transit Custom, as the model picked up 13 of the overall collection of awards.

Among these titles were International Van of the Year 2013, What Van? Van of the Year 2014, Fleet Van Awards' Medium Van of the Year and Auto Express Awards' Van of the Year.

Elsewhere, the standard Transit model picked up five gongs over the 12-month period, while its Connect sibling claimed Small Van of the Year from ACFO Awards for the 11th consecutive time.

Another successful vehicle was the Ford Ranger, which won four titles from four different ceremonies, including the International Pick-up Award 2013 and What Van? Awards' Best Pick-up 2014.

While the Ford Fiesta has been picking up praise for the hatchback version, the van has been similarly successful, taking three titles including What Van? Awards' Best Small Van 2014.

Finally, Ford's commercial sector as a whole took two awards, in the form of Van Manufacturer of the Year from Van Fleet World Honours, and Manufacturer of the Year from the Fleet Van Awards.
