Ford provides transit to disabled ski team

Ford has provided transport for disabled service personnel learning new sporting skills.

It is the second year that the company has loaned a Transit minibus to the Combined Services Disabled Ski Team, which aims to rehabilitate members through skiing.

The nine-seater Ford Transit Tourneo 280SWB will carry team members and their equipment to Austria for training, before serving them at the Inter-Service Championships in the Alps.

Lt Col Mike Quaile, deputy chairman of the team, called the van "invaluable" in supporting its members.

"The Ford Transit will allow us to move them and all their bulky equipment around the Alps and is an absolute lifeline for the team," Lt Quaile said.

He went on to praise the comfort and safety provided by the popular van model, which was recently named Best Security Panel Van 2010 by What Van? Magazine for the sixth consecutive year.

It also won the Medium Van Over 2.2-2.8 Tonnes category at the Fleet News Awards Fleets News in 2008.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800160425-ADNFCR
