Citroen has opened order books for its new flagship model, the C5 X.
The New Citroen C5 X combines SUV, saloon and station wagon elements to create a modern, elegant and practical vehicle. It celebrates Citroen’s heritage, by incorporating design features from iconic models such as the DS, CX and XM, yet feels futuristic thanks to the versatility of efficient powertrains.
The new chevron badging and flowing LED daylight running lights help to emphasise a clamshell bonnet design, and the whole vehicle profile has been designed with aerodynamics in mind.
The New C5 X is available with a choice of six metallic and pearlescent body colours; Perla Nera Black, Amazonite Grey, Platinum Grey, Cumulus Grey, Magnetic Blue and Pearl White.
Citroen’s new infotainment system makes its debut in the New C5 X. The ultra-wide 12-inch HD touchscreen with ambient backlighting is home to ‘My Citroen Drive Plus’, which is ready to take care of your connectivity and entertainment needs.
Passengers in the back certainly won’t feel cramped, thanks to increased space over the previous generation; there’s a further six centimetres more legroom and the Advanced Comfort Seats which come as standard, enhance passenger comfort.
With 545-litres of boot storage space in petrol variants and 485-litres in PHEV variants (extending with the rear seats folded), alongside eight storage compartments around the cabin - the New C5 X a great choice for families.
From launch, customers will have the choice of an efficient petrol or hybrid powertrain. Petrol variants are available with either a 1.2-litre PureTech 130 or 1.6-litre PureTech 180 engine. Hybrid models combine the 180 petrol engine with an 81.2kW electric motor and a 12.4kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, for a combined power output of 225hp and 360Nm of torque.
In full-electric mode, the hybrid model will have a range of 34 miles, and hybrid variants emit just 30g/kg of CO2, which makes them eligible for an 11% Benefit-in-Kind taxation rate.
Hybrid models have three available driving modes: Electric, Hybrid and Sport. Electric mode gives up to 34 miles of zero-emissions range, Hybrid mode offers the best of both worlds, and Sport mode maximises performance from the electric motor and petrol engine. Drivers can also use the e-Save function to reserve electric range for later in the journey if they need.
Prices for the New C5 X model will start at £26,490 OTR. For more information, contact your local Citroen dealer.
