Iveco to showcase concept van

Iveco is poised to unveil a new environmentally-friendly concept van at an industry event in Germany this week.

According to the manufacturer, it will use its stand in hall one of Challenge Bibendum 2011 to showcase its plans for the Iveco Glider, a truck that will optimise energy saving, productivity and comfort.

The company estimates that the van will consume 40 per cent less fuel than standard diesel models through the use of on-board photovoltaic panels, on top of kinetic energy and exhaust gas heat recovery.

Iveco stated: "The company’s objective is to make available to customers a range of the most innovative products aligned with the needs of sustainable mobility yet continuing to maintain a realistic and pragmatic approach to business.

Meanwhile, Iveco will also showcase its existing van ranges, such as the Ecostralis and the Ecodaily, as well as diesel and hybrid vehicles fuelled entirely by hydrotreated vegetable oil.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800549397-ADNFCR
