The all-new Mazda6 - the Japanese car giant's flagship model - will be unveiled next month.

Mazda has confirmed that the Moscow Motor Show, which takes place in the Russian capital on August 29th, will mark the debut of the new motor, which is set to boast a full range of the firm's SKYACTIV technologies.

The new model will also mark a continuation of the KODO 'Soul of Motion' design theme, first seen on the Mazda CX-5.

Under the bonnet, the Mazda6 will also be the first of the firm's motors to boast the new i-ELOOP brake energy regeneration technology.

"To create the new Mazda6, Mazda's engineers and designers utilised their best technical expertise and craftsmanship across all aspects of the car, from dynamic performance and design, through to environmental performance and safety," the firm explained.

"New Mazda6 will stand as the flagship model for a new generation of Mazda products.  It features a sense of dignity, style, luxury feel and comfort expected from a vehicle in the CD segment, while offering the pleasure of responsive and agile driving, which is at the core of the Mazda brand."

The news comes shortly after the Mazda CX-5 beat off stiff competition from a host of rivals to bag the coveted Best Crossover gong at the Auto Express Magazine Green Award 2012 ceremony.

Meanwhile, Mazda recently announced the launch of its innovative new app, which is designed to give drivers of its cars complete peace of mind.

The MyMazda app helps car owners across the UK keep a check of their vehicles' maintenance and review the model's service history and even enables them to request roadside assistance via their smartphones.
