Peugeot starts 2012 with a bang

Peugeot is enjoying a solid start to the year with a rise in sales.

The French manufacturer's latest figures show that sales were up by 6.4 per cent in January, with retail rising by 3.2 per cent and fleet by 8.8 per cent.

According to the firm, the popularity of the Peugeot 107 and Peugeot 207 is the main reason for the increase.

However, the rise coincides with the launch of the Drive Away happy campaign, which offers Peugeot customers a range of features when deciding to buy a new car.

According to the team at Peugeot, taking the "hassle" out of buying a car is a top priority for today's drivers.

And the firm predicts that things are only set to get better this year.

"In the first half of 2012, Peugeot plans a very active product launch phase, with the arrival of a world first, the award-winning and accomplished 3008 HYbrid4, followed by the restyled 107 and the new 508 RXH which uses the same HYbrid4 technology," a spokesman said.

"Announced in March and available mid-year is the all-new 208. A product of re-generation that will define the hallmarks of its sector, it has its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, as do the new Partner and Expert Tepee."
