Renault ZOE celebrates first birthday

The Renault ZOE has been celebrating a very special milestone, as the car is now officially a year old.

It was released in December 2012, so some might see it as a rather belated celebration! Nonetheless, the car visited the Chateau de Versailles in France to mark the occasion.

Over 40 owners of the model gathered at the event to discuss how they have handled the ZOE, which was recently named as EuroNCAP's best supermini.

It is the flagship vehicle in the brand's Z.E. range and has been given high praise since it first hit Europe's roads.

One of the guests at the party was a man simply identified by Renault as Benoist, a 50-year-old doctor who enjoys the latest technological innovations. He said: “I took delivery of ZOE, my first new car, just over a month ago, and I love it. The fact that it’s so smooth and quiet makes it really comfortable to drive. And it’s funny to see how ZOE attracts looks and smiles from people who are clearly intrigued by electric cars."

Customers buying the model in 2014 will soon benefit from the 'ZOE Access' service, which allows customers with low mileage to use a battery rental service for the car.
