Renault ZOE claims electric-car rally win

Despite the terrible weather conditions at this year's Rallye Monte-Carlo ZENN, the Renault ZOE was able to fend off fierce competition to complete its international rally debut in some style.

The ZOE team came away as the overall champion, as well as coming out on top in all four regularity tests.

It took first in the regularity prize, the energy consumption prize, the autotest and the Teams' challenge.

ZENN - or Zero emissions, no noise - is the 'greenest' portion of the Monte-Carlo New Energies Rally and is only open to electric cars.

The drivers of the ZOE were full of praise for the little car, noting strengths such as the model's user friendliness, efficient handling, response, range and fast charge.

It's another impressive title for the ZOE, coming nearly two years after it took the world record for 24-hour electric vehicle distance, clocking up 1,011 miles.
