Seat has announced it is poised to launch its latest model just weeks after releasing the Leon Ecomotive into the market.

The new Seat Leon Cupra R has been priced at £25,205, with the first deliveries expected to be made in a matter of weeks.

According to the manufacturer, the sporty-looking vehicle is aimed at hot hatch enthusiasts and is fitted with a tuned 2.0-litre turbocharged engine to produce 265ps.

The model offers fuel economy of 34.9 miles to the gallon and has CO2 output of 190 grams per kilometre.

Seat's UK product marketing manager Andy Medcraft revealed that the vehicle is "a special car for us not just because it is the most powerful, fastest and most extreme production model we have yet made", but also because it highlights what makes the brand's cars stand out in the crowd.

Meanwhile, the recently-launched Seat Leon Ecomotive offers CO2 emissions of 99 grams per kilometre and fuel economy of 74.3 miles to the gallon.
