SKODA Octavia Wins Auto Express New Car of the Year 2020
The Skoda Octavia has been crowned New Car of the Year 2020 at the Auto Express Awards.
Skoda’s all-new, fourth-generation Octavia scooped up three awards at the annual ceremony, including Best Compact Family Car, Best Estate Car and New Car of the Year.
The Auto Express awards cover more than 25 categories, honouring all types of cars and manufacturers.
Judges praised the Octavia on design, quality, comfort and value for money, beating a host of contenders to take home the top award. Designed to make family life easier, the all-new Skoda Octavia is jam-packed with smarter technology and features ample space and practicality features, as well as a new plug-in hybrid powertrain option to cater to the modern-day needs of drivers.
Adding to this success, the Octavia hatch was named Best Compact Family Car, which was won by the Skoda Scala last year, and the Octavia Estate won the Best Estate Car category.
The Octavia’s performance in its categories impressed judges and therefore was named overall New Car of the Year 2020.
This accolade is expected to be the first of many for the all-new Skoda Octavia. The previous model won more than 20 prestigious awards during its production from the top UK award ceremonies, including Auto Express and What Car?, setting high standards for the all-new, fourth-generation model.
