80 years of Nissan

80 years of Nissan

As our lead picture shows, Nissan (including Datsun and Infiniti) has made some fantastic cars over the years. From all-out racers to family favourites, and everything in between, there has been a Nissan for everyone over the last eight decades of the famous Japanese manufacturer.

To celebrate, Nissan will be running a month-long event, called '360', that whilst basking in the glory of the brand's achievements over these many years, will also look to the future of the Nissan, Infiniti and resurrected Datsun brands. And leading the way will be safety.

"Nissan is proud to be at the cutting-edge of automotive technology, with exciting prospects that will help shape the future use, brand appeal and environmental impact of vehicles amid continued global growth in overall vehicle demand," said Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO.

The Nissan 360 event will involve more than 100 Nissan, Infiniti and Datsun cars, and these vehicles will be tested on several specially designed courses over the coming weeks at the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station site, in southern California, USA. From this we can expect further releases and reveals as to what's coming from Nissan and their sub-brands.

Nissan 360 will be the third time since the 1999, when the Renault-Nissan Alliance was formed, that the Japanese manufacturer has hosted a major global event to show off its new technologies, latest models and potential market innovations. More exciting news to follow...
