Alfa launches video teaser of 4C

While drivers will have to wait until next year to get their hands on the 4C - Alfa Romeo's latest foray into the sports car market - the firm has issued a sneak peak at the motor.

An official promo video has now been launched demonstrating the capabilities of the model, which is best described as the little brother of the Italian marque's 8C supercar.

The clip explains that the motor will boast a turbo-charged four cylinder mid-mounted 1,750cc engine, expected to reach 100km/h from a standing position in under five seconds.

US fans will be given the chance to get behind the wheel by the end of this year, while a European release is not expected until summer 2012.

Despite the wait, Alfa is sure to have whetted the appetite of its fans and drummed up interest in the sleek two-door roadster.

It comes as Alfa Romeo also unveiled a new unique paintjob for its MiTo model.

The firm enlisted the services of Louise Dear to makeover the 1.3-litre Sprint model as part of its partnership art chain Castle Galleries.
