Ford bringing its Sync Applink technology to Europe

American vehicle giant Ford has announced that European motorists will soon be able to sample its innovative in-car technology, Sync Applink.

Revealing the news at the Midem music industry conference in France over the past weekend, Ford confirmed that the system will be in place in parts of the continent by the end of the year.

Ford's Sync Applink stands out as it enables motorists to use their voice to control some of their most-used mobile phone apps while behind the wheel.

In the US, drivers have had the opportunity to listen to such radio stations as iHeartradio and Tunein Radio, as well as their favourite songs through Amazon Cloud Player, by streaming apps from their smartphone to their Ford vehicle's in-car entertainment system.

Although the supported apps for European motorists have yet to be announced, Sync Applink should be able to function with any vehicle that has the standard Sync feature in operation. This includes the Ford Fiesta, B-MAX, Kuga, Focus ST, Transit and Transit Custom models.
